SPECIAL FX MAKEUP PROGRAM
Want to expand your makeup knowledge and bring your fantasy characters to life? The SFX Program from The Makeup Academy gives you hands-on demos daily and 40 hours of hands-on practice. We’re an international school of makeup located in NY, and we have been licensed by NYSED to provide an unbeatable educational experience. Whether you’re just learning about SFX or want to revisit your SFX skills this program is for you. From learning how to create bruises and swelling to creating characters. Working alongside instructors that are working in the industry for 10+ years.
In this program, you’ll be equipped with a SFX kit that will allow you to learn the fundamentals and techniques of SFX while also focusing on crucial skills such as color theory, blood application, and prosthetics. You’ll receive practice hours, photoshoots, and various opportunities to extend your portfolio, such as collaborating with photographers and expanding your professional network.

Sanitation standards are the mark of a professional makeup artist. We have partnered with the only hospital-grade and globally recognized sanitation training and certification company for makeup artists. This sanitation training is included with all our professional makeup classes and is required before classes begin. After training, you can be assured that you will always keep yourself and your clients safe.

Photoshoots
Your looks will cover hands, arms, chest and face. Day starts at 8:30am and ends at 2:30pm. You will be timed on your looks and have an instructor working alongside you for any questions you may have. There will be a photographer taking BTS photos and you’ll be receiving 4-5 photos from each look.
You’ll get to work on two professional agency models to create two of your very own
bruised and bloodied looks. You have 2.5 hours for each look.
You’ll get to work with one professional agency model to create your very own
fantasy character. You have a full 5 hours to finish your look.
